Dental Crowns and Dental Bridges From Our New Orleans Dentist

A damaged or lost tooth doesn’t have to mean the end of your smile. Dental crowns and dental bridges have been reliable treatments for decades, and while the materials used may have become more long-lasting and lifelike, there’s still no beating these reliable restorations! At 7 O’Clock Dental, we offer high-quality crowns and bridges that will perfectly match your natural teeth!

We offer several different materials for our crowns and bridges, each with their own unique advantages.

Porcelain fused to metal: these are made of a metal base that is covered in tooth-colored porcelain. The result is an incredibly strong and realistic looking restoration that blends well with your natural teeth.
All ceramic: the best aesthetic option, these are great for restoring teeth close to the front of your mouth. By eliminating the metal base, a bit of strength is lost, but the appearance can’t get much more realistic!
Zirconium: this is the premier material for crowns and bridges. Incredibly strong and realistic, zirconium is a great match for teeth that will take a lot of force when you chew but still need to look good!

Dental Crowns

Crowns are used to restore teeth that are damaged due to trauma or decay. The process begins with a full exam of your tooth to make sure that it’s healthy enough to support a crown. Once we’ve determined that a crown is your best solution, we’ll reshape your tooth so that it will fit under your new restoration. We’ll then take an impression of your mouth that will be sent to our dental lab where your crown will be built. This usually takes a couple of weeks, so in the mean time, we’ll place a temporary crown to protect your tooth.

Once we receive your crown back from the lab, you’ll come back for a second appointment where we’ll place your permanent restoration! You’ll be ready to chew and show off your new tooth right away!

Dental Bridges

When you’ve lost one or more teeth, a bridge is used to restore your smile and the function that you lose along with your tooth. A bridge consists of one or more false teeth attached to two crowns. The crowns are attached to the healthy teeth on either side of your missing tooth, providing a permanent replacement!

Bridges also serve to stabilize your remaining healthy teeth. When a tooth is lost, the socket that contained it begins to shrink, causing bone loss. This loss can lead to instability in your neighboring teeth, causing them to shift and potentially fall out as well! A bridge holds your healthy teeth in place, preventing the damage that could occur without it!

Implant-Supported Bridges

The premier restoration for multiple missing teeth is an implant supported bridge. Using several dental implants, we can permanently place an amazingly lifelike restoration that provides unparalleled stability and support. Not only that, but implants are a great way to prevent the loss of bone that comes along with missing teeth!

Implant-supported bridges can even replace a full arch of teeth! You’ll be amazed at the advanced solutions offered by implants!
