New Orleans Dentist Adds Talented Dental Assistant

NEW ORLEANS, LA – Dr. John Tripp, a leading New Orleans family dentist, has hired a new dental assistant at his growing family dental practice.

Dr. Tripp, who operates 7 O’Clock Dental, LLC, added long-time dental assistant Shalena Washington to his hygiene department. Washington has 10 years of experience working as a dental assistant.

“Shalena has a great rapport with the patients and a warm and gentle attitude that our patients love to see,” Dr. Tripp said. “She makes every patient feel comfortable while they’re in the chair and takes pride in helping patients overcome dental issues and maintain bright, healthy smiles.”

Dental assistants in Louisiana assist the dentist chairside during preventive and advanced dental treatments – from cleaning teeth to taking impressions for restorations. Washington has been approved by the Louisiana State Board of Dentistry to render safe X-rays for patients.

Dr. Tripp said Washington spends additional time with every patient to help them develop better at-home oral health plans. Washington serves as infection control and sterilizes instruments for Dr. Tripp.

“Shalena is great with our patients and helps them spot areas in the mouth they need to focus on while brushing and flossing at home,” Dr. Tripp said. “She has a great saying that we love to repeat around the office, ‘Only floss the teeth that you want to keep.’”

7 O’Clock Dental, LLC, 2101 South Claiborne Ave., Ste. F, provides quality preventive dentistry, cosmetic dentistry, restorative dentistry, wisdom tooth removal and root canal therapy.

Dr. Tripp has trained to provide patients ClearCorrect, a revolutionary cosmetic and orthodontic solution that straightens teeth without metal brackets or wires. ClearCorrect uses clear trays to gradually straighten the teeth. The treatment is virtually undetectable, and the trays can be easily removed for cleaning and eating. Dr. Tripp also uses advanced techniques to treat gum disease and gum issues. Gum disease is the leading cause of tooth loss and has been linked to serious problems like diabetes and heart disease. By using noninvasive and gentle treatments, Dr. Tripp can treat infections caused by gum disease and help the patient achieve a healthy smile.

Dr. Tripp recently started his own practice after working as an associate dentist for four years. Originally from Macon, Ga., Dr. Tripp earned his undergraduate degree from Xavier University of Louisiana and received his dental degree from Meharry Medical College.

Dr. Tripp uses state-of-the-art technology to ensure that patients receive the most gentle and advanced care available. The practice uses digital X-rays to reduce radiation exposure, intraoral cameras for patient diagnosis and education, and DentalVibe to provide pain-free Novocain delivery.
